Two boats and 8 divers motored out from the Newhaven boat ramp 9am Sunday 27th March with the Pinnacles set into the GPS. Rounding the Eastern point at Cape Wollamai was a bit like heading into a scene from the "Perfect Storm" movie!
The boats pushed into big swells some not able to be ridden over and with waves coming over the wind screen, we nearly went into deco!
The safety aspect was well and truely take into consideration by the dive captain and all agreed that once on the dive site all conditions were favourable for safe diving.
All divers had a brilliant dive on the Pinnacle, and by the time we had all finished the wind had dropped and conditions were a lot calmer for the run back into a pretty bay on the north side for a lunch break.
Some divers blew the last remaining air from dive one with a swim around a very small island in the bay.
Others decided on a dive starting from the island point and heading east back into the bay along the channel.
