The Scuba Divers Federation of South Australia always has a full page of excellent articles in each edition of the monthly Dive Log magazine, available for free from many dive outlets.
In the current March edition of Dive Log there is an article which reminds us that it is 27 years ago this year that the anchor from the famous, but tragic, Loch Ard was raised near Port Campbell.
The anchor was raised from a depth of 25 metres in extreemly difficult conditions and 4 metre swells.
Members of VSAG and SDFV clubs, plus MAAV, took part in this exercise. 21 divers in all were involved!
To appreciate the full story of this challenging event, it appears on page 73 of Dive Log, March 2007, under the SDFSA heading.
