Just in from Judy Crisp, daughter of "Snow" Raggatt...

Quote:
For any members who dived in the sink holes in the Sth. East (Piccannie Ponds, 1080, The Pines, just to name a few) I would just like to advise that the one of the icons of Australian Diving was my late father "Snow" Raggatt who died last week in Melbourne aged 85 years.

My father was instrumental, along with his dive buddy Mick Potter, for putting the above dives on the map, so to speak. They were previously unknown to the diving fratenity until Dad and Mick decided to share their finds with the rest of the world.

Dad also had the only air compressor in the Sth. East, so any visiting divers would have known him. (I am going back to late 50's to late 60's.) Any divers visiting Mt. Gambier who knew Snow are advised his remains will be laid to rest at the old Mt. Gambier cemetary at 2.00pm on Easter Saturday and you are invited to attend.

Snow is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Judy and son Stephen (and their families) who all enjoyed diving as a family for many years.

Regards, Judy Crisp (Nee Raggatt)
